Description
For Sale By Public Auction
Set within the historic market town of Ludlow, this substantial brick-built former agricultural building offers a rare and characterful opportunity in a well-established residential setting. The building has an appealing traditional appearance, with red brick elevations beneath a pitched roof, and retains the proportions and presence associated with its former use. Although now in need of improvement, the structure has a strong sense of permanence and provides an attractive basis from which to create its future use, subject to any permissions that may be required.
The building currently comprises an elongated brick structure, with the southern section arranged as residential accommodation. This area includes ground floor facilities together with further living space at first floor level. The adjoining former barn provides a generous internal volume, with open areas, high rooflines and traditional detailing, all contributing to the sense of character and scale. Externally, the surrounding land includes areas of hardstanding together with garden space, offering scope for private outdoor areas and practical parking.
The property occupies a prominent position, sitting slightly elevated in relation to nearby homes and enjoying a setting that feels both tucked away and conveniently placed. The surrounding area includes established residential properties, mature greenery and a sense of enclosure, helping to give the building a more private and individual feel. The existing access serves nearby residential dwellings and connects the property to the wider road network, with mains services already connected to the building.
Ludlow is widely regarded as one of Shropshire’s most desirable market towns, celebrated for its rich history, attractive architecture and vibrant community. The town is particularly well known for Ludlow Castle, its medieval street pattern and an excellent selection of independent shops, cafés, restaurants and traditional public houses. The town also has a strong reputation for food and drink, with regular markets and local producers contributing to its distinctive character.
Everyday amenities are readily available within Ludlow, including supermarkets, schools, healthcare services, leisure facilities and a railway station providing links towards Shrewsbury, Hereford, Birmingham and beyond. The surrounding Shropshire countryside is renowned for its scenic beauty, with the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty close at hand, offering excellent opportunities for walking, cycling and outdoor pursuits. This combination of heritage, amenities and countryside access makes Ludlow an enduringly popular place to live.

The reserve price is the minimum price at which the seller has authorised the auctioneer to sell. The reserve price remains confidential between the seller and the auctioneer.
Where a guide price is shown as a range, the reserve price will be set within that range. Where a single figure guide price is shown, the reserve price will not be set more than 10% above that figure.
