The kirkton or village of Balquhidder lies at the head of Loch Voil, south west of Lochearnhead and west of Strathyre.

In the village there are the remains of a number of pre-historic sites including a stone circle, the Pudreag Stone, and a Neolithic burial chamber cairn to the east.
