Parkend's central position within the Forest of Dean allows direct access to all of the local towns and tourist destinations (The Dean Forest Railway, Family cycle trial). Parkend itself benefits from a Cycle centre (bike hire), village shop, Whitemead Forest park which has caravan, lodges, camping, glamping and self-catering accommodation.

What the vendors say:
We came to the Fountain Inn in 1990 and have thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We're sad to be selling but, after 34 years, we now feel it's time to retire and hand over the reins to someone else. The Fountain Inn is a well organised pub with quality commercial-grade facilities and a great team of staff. New owners will benefit from being able hit the ground running, but there's also excellent potential to develop and grow the business.
Parkend is centrally located within the Forest, and a wonderful place to live. Unlike many publicans, we have our own self-contained accommodation and garden. From a personal perspective, pub-life has been extremely rewarding. Our three children have very much enjoyed growing up in the pub and have been actively involved in village institutions such as the school and the scouts. There's excellent community spirit in Parkend, and we're proud that the Fountain Inn occupies a central role in the village's community life.
