Description

Positioned in the heart of the lively tourist attraction that is the Forest of Dean; Hills offer a chance to acquire an award winning and thriving family run and established Hotel/pub business with freehold tenure of the historic Fountain Inn of which dates back circa late 17th century.

This fantastic opportunity includes pub with bar, dining area, commercial kitchen, eight 4 star letting bedrooms (all with en-suites), customer WC (including disabled access), self contained two bedroom flat with private garden (currently utilised as the owners residence but could be a letting suite or staff accommodation), pub garden, large car park and fully equipped staff (including chef). This opportunity is perfect for someone looking for a successful turn key business alongside a lovely home all of which is in immaculate condition.

Parkend's central position within the Forest of Dean allows direct access to all of the local towns and tourist destinations (The Dean Forest Railway, Family cycle trial). Parkend itself benefits from a Cycle centre (bike hire), village shop, Whitemead Forest park which has caravan, lodges, camping, glamping and self-catering accommodation.

A wider range of facilities are also available throughout the Forest of Dean including an abundance of woodland and river walks. The Severn crossings and M4 towards London, Bristol and Cardiff are easily reached from this area along with the cities of Gloucester and Cheltenham for access onto the M5 and the Midlands.

What the vendors say:

We came to the Fountain Inn in 1990 and have thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We're sad to be selling but, after 34 years, we now feel it's time to retire and hand over the reins to someone else. The Fountain Inn is a well organised pub with quality commercial-grade facilities and a great team of staff. New owners will benefit from being able hit the ground running, but there's also excellent potential to develop and grow the business.

Parkend is centrally located within the Forest, and a wonderful place to live. Unlike many publicans, we have our own self-contained accommodation and garden. From a personal perspective, pub-life has been extremely rewarding. Our three children have very much enjoyed growing up in the pub and have been actively involved in village institutions such as the school and the scouts. There's excellent community spirit in Parkend, and we're proud that the Fountain Inn occupies a central role in the village's community life.
