Description
Summary
Tucked away in the heart of Stalham is this stunning three-bedroom barn conversion, offering the character and individuality you'd expect from a Norfolk barn, combined with spacious and versatile accommodation arranged across three floors.
It's one of those properties you could easily pass without ever knowing it was there, yet step outside and you're within walking distance of Stalham High Street, schools, shops and everyday amenities. The Norfolk Broads are close by, beautiful countryside surrounds the town and the coast is only a short drive away.
The ground floor is undoubtedly one of the highlights. A fantastic kitchen opens into an impressive open-plan dining and living space, creating a brilliant social heart to the home. A wood-burning stove adds character and warmth, while double doors connect the living area with the rear garden. There are also smaller areas within the layout that lend themselves perfectly to a home office, reading corner or quiet workspace, alongside a separate utility room and WC.
Across the upper two floors are three double bedrooms, two of which benefit from their own en-suite facilities, together with a separate family bathroom.
With gardens to both the front and rear and off-road parking, this is a property that combines space, character and location beautifully.
Agents Comments
There's something special about discovering a property you simply wouldn't know was there, and this barn conversion is a great example.
For me, the kitchen and open-plan living space really make the home. It's big, sociable and full of character, with the wood burner and doors onto the garden giving it that cosy barn-conversion feel while still providing the space needed for modern life.
Then you've got three double bedrooms, three bathrooms, plenty of reception space and those useful little areas that could easily become a home office or reading space.
But it's the location that completes it. You can walk into Stalham for everything you need, yet you're also within easy reach of the Broads, countryside and Norfolk coastline. If owning a characterful Norfolk barn conversion has always been on the wish list, this is certainly one to come and see.
Vendors Comments
It will be a wrench to leave my beautiful home in this glorious part of Norfolk, literally a five minute drive to beautiful Sandy beaches where families enjoy the summer, dog walkers and hikers enjoy the spring and autumn and the locals relish the peace and beauty of a winter beach walk.
With the broads on your doorstep, supermarkets, schools and the Doctors all within a 5 minute walk our lovely Barn has been everything I have needed it to be for the past 11 years.
It’s been at the centre of family life hosting large Christmas gatherings, summer barbecues, birthday parties including bouncy castles and somewhere our grandchildren have enjoyed time away from home staying with their grandparents.
Our home adapts to and benefits from being the best of both, firstly it’s our retreat, the peaceful tranquility of being under large Norfolk skies, where we benefit from private, well established gardens with a mix of summer colour, fruit trees and more mature shrubs and yet in an instant it becomes a vibrant family home with enough space to accommodate even the most chaotic visits, with 4 toilets spread across 3 bathrooms and a convenient downstairs cloakroom, space enough to comfortably entertain while simultaneously still allow peaceful retreats when needed.
The only reason we are now looking to leave this wonderful home is because retirement has given us some valuable time to spend travelling, visiting family in Kent and London both of which will be made easier with the shorter travel time from South Norfolk.
If we could take our home with us on our move to South Norfolk we really would.
