Fort William, located 15 miles away, is often referred to as the “Outdoor Capital of the UK”, and is most famous for being the gateway to Ben Nevis, Mallaig and Inverness. Activity based enthusiasts are especially catered for at “Ice Factor” - the ultimate adventure centre including ice/rock climbing, aerial adventure course, shop, restaurant and café.

Glencoe Mountain Resort and the Nevis Range (Fort William) are also local and enjoyed in the area for seasonal skiing, mountain biking etc. The famous “Jacobite” West Highland Train operates between Mallaig and Glasgow, stopping at Fort William Train Station. In addition, the Overnight Caledonian Sleeper operates between London Euston and Fort William.

Directions
If travelling from Fort William, take the A82 south to the Corran Ferry and take the short crossing to Ardgour. Upon alighting the ferry, turn left onto the A861 and follow the road through the village of Strontian. Eilean Mor is situated approximately 3.5 miles along this road.
